or, Why Shopping In-Store is the Smart Move for Grooms. We get it—weddings are expensive, and when it’s your turn to suit up, you want to keep things simple and affordable. So when a sleek-looking suit pops up in your feed for $90, it’s tempting to click "Buy Now" and cross it off your list. But let’s do the math. That bargain-basement suit? It’s likely to arrive with sleeves that are too long, pants that puddle, shoulders that don’t sit right, and fabric that feels like plastic. Why? Because online suit companies gamble on standard sizing—a mythical land where all men are the same shape. It doesn't exist. They are also gambling on you not knowing the difference between quality and sub-par materials. Tailoring Adds Up Once the suit arrives, reality sets in. It doesn’t fit—and it never really could. Now you’re off to a tailor. And tailoring isn’t cheap. Hemming, taking in, letting out, adjusting sleeves, shaping the jacket… suddenly that $90 suit is pushing $200 or more, and you’ve lost precious hours running around to make it halfway wearable. And still—it’s not great. At BT, we have been in business long enough to know that retailers cannot guarantee that a suit bought at a boutique won't still need tailoring. But with a brick and mortar operation, you know what to expect, can get the tailoring done if you need it and with experts who can answer your questions. Quality Matters (Especially at Weddings) Even after tailoring, many of these online suits just aren’t made to last. They’re manufactured with the cheapest possible fabrics and stitching, designed to look good in a product photo, not to stand up to real-life movement, dancing, hugging, or even sitting. Worse still, most of them end up tossed in the trash after a single wear, making them a poor choice for anyone trying to shop with sustainability in mind. Approximately 92 million tons of clothing is estimated to end up in landfills each year. Why add to that when you have better options? A Better Investment: Buy Smart or Rent SmartHere’s the thing: a suit is more than just a one-day outfit. When you shop in person at a trusted boutique, you’re investing in quality, longevity, and versatility. A well-constructed suit can take you from wedding vows to job interviews to milestone events—again and again. It’s not about spending more, it’s about spending wisely. In-store shopping also comes with serious perks:
Your Wedding Is a Big Deal—Dress Like It Whether you’re the groom, the best man, or a guest with a front-row seat, weddings are important. They’re life’s biggest milestones. And how you show up—how you present yourself—matters. A poorly-fitted suit sends the wrong message. A thoughtfully chosen suit or tux tells the world you value the moment—and yourself.
Don’t fall for the $90 trap. Invest in quality. Shop smart. Or rent smart. At Bridal Traditions, we’re here to help you do it right the first time. Because your wedding memories should last—and your suit should, too.

There’s something timeless and joyful about the name Felicity—and it’s not just the soft, romantic sound. Rooted in Latin, “Felicity” comes from felicitas, meaning good fortune, happiness, and bliss. It’s a word that has long captured the essence of life’s most beautiful moments—those rare days when everything aligns, and joy feels both effortless and infinite. See the novels of Jane Austen for more. Meanwhile, what better name for a wedding gown? Gone are the days when white was the only color on the wedding radar. More and more modern brides are ditching tradition and saying yes to the dress—in black. Why? Because black is bold, unforgettable, and unapologetically chic. It’s the color of confidence, edge, and elegance all wrapped into one stunning silhouette. Whether you're going full gothic romance or high-fashion minimalist, a black gown makes a serious statement: This is my day, and I'm doing it my way. The Artemis Gown, in BlackThe Artemis gown from Cailyn Lea Couture has ball gown vibes, a versatile bodice design, delicate beading and just the right amount of lace. It also features pockets, so it understands that an iconic bride is also a practical bride. The Maisy GownChoosing a black wedding dress is also about authenticity. Today's brides want a look that reflects who they are—not just what’s expected. Maybe white just isn’t your vibe, or maybe you want to stand out in a sea of sameness. The Maisy gown could be your answer, as it is a study in lace. Can you have too much black lace? The answer, according to Maisy, is "no." This gown has off the shoulder straps, with eyelash details around the bodice, and a full skirt. She's gorgeous. Black brings drama, depth, and a little bit of mystery. Paired with lush florals, bold accessories, or a moody venue, it transforms your walk down the aisle into a full-on cinematic moment. And honestly? What’s more iconic than that?
In May of 2025, Kimberly Shook married Randy Vaughn surrounded by nature, beauty, and the warmth of their closest loved ones. Their wedding day at The Barn at Elk Creek Shoal was filled with love, laughter, and gratitude — the kind of celebration that reminds us why we do what we do here at Bridal Traditions. Their love story is as unique as it is heartwarming. Kimberly had been raising German Shepherd puppies and was determined to give one to a veteran who could use a loyal companion. Through a mutual friend, she met Randy, who ended up receiving one of those special pups. It would be a couple of years before their paths aligned in the right way, but once they did, the connection was undeniable. Kimberly shared, “We finally got to know one another and fell head over heels.” The ceremony was held outdoors, taking full advantage of the natural beauty that The Barn at Elk Creek Shoal offers. The venue, lovingly decorated for the occasion, provided a perfect blend of rustic charm and elegance. From the surrounding greenery to the welcoming barn interior, the entire property set the tone for a romantic and meaningful day. While every moment was special, Kimberly said the best part of the day was having their families there to celebrate with them. Love was not just between the bride and groom but felt among everyone present. We were honored to help Kimberly find her gown here at Bridal Traditions. She chose a dress that suited her perfectly and appreciated both the comfort and design. “The built-in bra and the way it was not heavy” made all the difference as she moved through her day with ease and joy. We’re thrilled that our team could be a helpful part of her journey to “I do.” To Kimberly and Randy — thank you for letting us be a small part of your beautiful beginning. Wishing you a lifetime of love, puppies, and happiness!
On November 16, 2024, surrounded by the familiar beauty of her family’s farm, Rachael married her high school sweetheart, Sam Cheek. Together since they were 15 and 17, their love story spans years of growing up side by side. “I knew I would marry him since I met him,” Rachael shared. “We dated all through high school and now we are married!” The Wedding DayTheir wedding day was filled with heartfelt moments, laughter, and joy. One of the most memorable? “Walking back down the aisle together, I remember yelling ‘WE’RE MARRIED’ when we got to the end,” Rachael said. That kind of excitement and sincerity was felt by everyone present—a celebration not just of a wedding, but of years of shared history and a future just beginning. The DressRachael found the one at Bridal Traditions—off the rack, in her perfect size, and needing no changes. “Would not change a thing to this day,” she said. Her gown featured delicate lace across the top and throughout the train, a detail she loved most. It was a timeless choice for a bride whose love story is as enduring as the lace itself. And the men were not left out. Sam and his groomsmen's attire also came from Bridal Traditions. We’re so honored to have played a small part in Rachael and Sam’s day, and we wish them every happiness in this beautiful next chapter. Many thanks to Alyssa Renee Photography for these images of the couple's day.
