Fellas, Grooms and Groomsmen - this one is for you. Time's have changed and there are more Casual Fridays than there are Fabulous Fetes to attend. Many of us show our style in ways that don't meet the guidelines for "fancy." That said, we celebrate milestones, we get married, we go to other people's weddings, we apply for jobs, speak at conferences, and those moments call for something a bit more formal. Why Buy a Suit?Buying a suit may feel like a big outlay of cash in the beginning, but if you find yourselves in any of these scenarios, it's worth a second thought. Do any of these apply to you? 1 - Your social calendar is filled with parties, big events and special occasions. 2 - Your job requires you to look professional - beyond the khakis and golf shirt look. The first two reasons above are targeted most especially to those in their 20s and 30s. There is a period when you are going to graduations, formal gatherings, weddings, and job interviews at a rate that boggles the mind. Renting a suit again and again (and again!) can get costly. Buying a beautiful suit that can be worn to all of these with ease is a superb investment. 3 - You are hard to fit in off the rack, tailored clothes. 4 - You are ready to invest in yourself. These next two obviously lean to the more personal side of the decision. If you have trouble finding clothes that fit - especially structured and tailored clothes - then buying a suit that fits YOU is worth it. Suit rentals have come a long way in terms of cut, size and shape, but nothing says "mine" like a bespoke suit. Secondly, you deserve to own something that makes you look like you care about how you are perceived. First impressions still matter and a guy in a suit looks like he's trying, like he's serious and like he has something to contribute. Why Rent?1 - Your wallet said "NO." 2 - You need something quickly. 3 - You are still growing. 4 - The event calls for it. 5 - You prefer versatility in your styles. The first four are of a similar kind - in other words, renting in these situations has to do with simply not being ready to buy or not finding it necessary. If your finances cannot support purchasing a suit, rent. If you need something for an event and you're out of time, rent. If this is for prom and you are still growing, rent. If you are a groomsman at a wedding, rent. Groomsmen need to match in most cases, so wearing your own suit often won't work. A final reason to rent is versatility of style. If you're a guy who likes to make a statement - but not The Same Statement again and again, you should consider renting. You can show off your personality or choose to rent something that suits (pardon the pun) that specific occasion. There are a lot of styles out there and you could have a lot of fun and learn a lot about what styles work for you by going the rental route.
Regardless, Bridal Traditions has a robust menswear collection through JFW and we have been an Elite Dealer since 2007. If you are interested in renting or buying, we've got you. Come see us. Tiffany and Ben were married at Winding Creek Farm and Wedding Barn in April of 2022. Theirs was a whirlwind courtship and after several months of dating, they got engaged and began planning their wedding. The CeremonyTiffany: "We wanted a very casual and fun wedding that included all our close friends and family. I incorporated a few Disney songs into our ceremony as I wanted to truly feel like a Disney princess. I used navy blue and petal pink colors along with some accents of purple. I had a white bouquet of Calla Lilies that was made by my very talented mother." The DressTiffany: "I was a little picky with the dress. I wanted princess style, big and poofy. I had originally wanted sleeves but after trying those on I soon found myself not wanting sleeves. I wanted lots of bling and sparkle. I didn’t like mermaid or trumpet style, nothing low cut in the back, and it had to be white." After trying on several dresses, Tiffany chose an off-the-shoulder, high-waisted, really elegant and - wait for it - it had pockets! Add a bedazzled belt and long train with buttons all the way down, and Tiffany was transformed into the princess she had envisioned!. Congrats to Tiffany and Ben on their gorgeous day and here's to many, many fun decades ahead!
Photos: Earl Daniels Summer Lackey and Samuel Holbrook were married on May 28, 2022 at The Emerald Hill in Hiddenite, NC. Their gorgeous outdoor ceremony was attended by friends, family and perfect weather. Summer and Sam met in high school, but grew to know each other better - and finally fall in love - during and after college. This English teacher and physician's assistant in training were so excited to make it official, and WE, at Bridal Traditions, were honored to be a part of the bride's day. The VenueThe Emerald Hill is an absolutely stunning spot and provides plenty of views for the ceremony and for the photographer: a backdrop of rolling hills, tall grassy areas, and a serene pond. The theme Summer chose was, well - Summery, elegant and rustic with mason jars, loads of wild and bulb flowers. Powder blue throughout the wardrobe and decor, loads of wildflowers, small candles, and silver frames with special photos, all added a personal touch. The CeremonyNot only did they have perfect weather for their ceremony, but both Summer and Sam mentioned that they couldn't take their eyes off each other during Summer's march down the aisle. Even with whirling flower girls, the bride and groom were focused on each other. Before the ceremony, the couple had a first touch and prayer that gave them a quiet moment and created a sense of excitement about the "I Dos" just minutes after. The DressRomance, romance, romance......... Summer's hair, makeup and gown were perfect for her and she looked amazing! Summer: "I knew that I wanted a dress with a long skirt, and that I did not want anything too conforming. I was really open-minded on all other criteria. I did have some options picked out from the Bridal Traditions website, but I was glad that I kept an open mind because the dress that I ended up with was not one that I initially picked off of the website. I love the layer of sequins that is overlaid with a layer of lace embroidered flowers. It is the most beautiful dress I have ever seen." A really sweet detail that we cannot fail to mention: Summer's gown was purchased by the mother of two of Summer's friends who were killed by a drunk driver in 2017. This lady gifted Summer with a wedding dress in honor of her children and Summer's dear friends. We love this and know that it will be a part of Summer and Sam's wedding story forever. Congratulations, Sweet Newlyweds! Cheers to many happy returns for Summer and Sam! All of the gorgeous photos are courtesy of: Taylor Cline Photography
Vibrant jewel tones at a wedding are not new, but they are IN. Summer wedding palettes do not have to stick to a traditional and expected set of colors. Here are a few more ideas and combinations to help you brides generate ideas! If you missed the June colors, check them out here. While considering colors, also consider textures. The balloons, market lights, flowers and umbrellas at the reception just below create atmosphere like no wedding before! People will remark and remember for years to come. And so will you! The ombre look of this floral table fixture below makes such a dramatic statement. And golden hues in flowers are a win in July! Tangerine, amber and rich shades of orange aren't just for autumn and believe it or not orange goes with lots of other colors beautifully. Don't sweat pulling together complementary colors and textures! Seriously ladies: the sky is the limit!
